The brand
Galula is a portuguese-based design brand of furniture, lighting and accessories, run by two designers. Galula’s products fuse clear ‘fun-ctionality’ and quirky design while shaping a better future for our planet.
Our purpose is to deliver iconic yet simple design full with quirky highlights. On top of that, we embrace sustainable business practices and ethical production. The quality of our products in alliance with an affordable price its also a major part of our mission.
We are from Porto, a city in north of Portugal and all of our products are made in that same region.

The Products
All of our products are designed by Filipa Mendes and Gustavo Macedo – Mendes’Macedo - the two founders of the brand. Working in collaboration with different designers is part of Galula’s plans for the future.
The entire process of creating and selling a Galula product - since design until shipping - takes place in the same region, in northern Portugal.
Galula’s moto is: producing pieces that have the best quality possible. We pay attention to every little detail, since the selection of high quality material to the final process of production. In Portugal, we have great local craftsmen, as well as cutting-edge technology that help us fulfilling our goals.
- Sustainable Materials / Most of our products have cork as its main material, which is one of the most sustainable materials in the world. Another example is Steel because 100% recyclable.
- Local Production / The entire process of creating and selling a Galula product - since design until shipping - takes place in north of Portugal.

We are rethinking our approach to the packaging and will be removing all plastics used very soon.
Orders & Payment
You can buy our products directly from the webshop in our website. Alternatively, you can find our products through one of our partners.
We accept highly secure payment options through Shopify Payments, which allows you to use debit or credit cards, and we also offer PayPal for your convenience.
Shipping & Delivery
We deliver to all countries within European Union, UK, Norway, Switzerland, and to the USA (some products).
The shipping cost of all orders is determined at checkout. If you are ordering from a non-EU country, be aware that the local tax authorities will directly charge you additional custom charges and national VAT. We recommend contacting your local tax offices for additional information on this matter.
All prices on our webshop include VAT. If you want your order to be shipped to Norway, Switzerland and United Kingdom please contact us so that you can obtain a code that will deduce the VAT from the purchased products. Norway and Switzerland tax authorities will directly charge you additional custom charges and national VAT. We recommend contacting your local tax offices for additional information on this matter.
Delivery usually takes between 7-15 days. However, since we prioritize quality and sustainability by not keeping large inventories, all of our products are made to order by local producers. This means that it can take 3-4 weeks for your items to be crafted and ready for shipping.
Once the order has been shipped, you will receive an email with the tracking information. Then you will be able to track your order, following the link to the parcel delivery of the UPS service.
Returns & Warranties
If you change your mind and wish to return a Galula product, you have to contact us within 14 days of receiving your order, and we'll let you know how to return it, or arrange for a collection. Once it gets back to us, a refund will be issued to the original form of payment at the original selling price including your initial delivery charge. Any return or collection costs will be charged. The delivery should be done using its original packaging and in perfect condition. Gift cards and personalized items have specific sales conditions, and cannot be returned.
When applicable, the refund will take 7 working days after receiving the item in our warehouse to go through. You will be refunded through the same payment method used for the original purchase.
You can return your items and won’t be charged for the return or collection, if the item you are returning is faulty or we’ve sent you the wrong one. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the shipping charges if you have changed your mind about the item. In those cases, you will need to pay the return. It will cost you 10% of the total cost for orders up to 150€ or 7% for orders above 150€.
Galula’s team checks each and every item before we send it to its destination. But if we’ve missed something or have sent you the wrong item, we ask you to please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order. If you can send us some photos, we appreciate it because it helps us visualizing the damage or any other issues. Following that, we will help you exchange or return the item. And don’t worry, in cases like this we give you three options: a full refund, repair of your item or an order replacement.
Any product you purchase from us comes with a two-year warranty. You're covered right from the day your product arrives at its destination. All defects concerned with production or material faults of your furniture are protected with our plan. Damage or material wearing out may occur with normal everyday use. Our warranty can’t cover in those cases but we give you the possibility to repair your product so that you can continue to enjoy galula’s ‘fun-ctionality’! Contact us and we will gladly provide you with a fair budget. Keep in mind: sales receipts and delivery statements will be needed to activate your warranty.
